Telephone Scam

Someone called us using an operator to speak to us, like what they use for deaf people, or people with accents or who can't speak English as well as they can type it, and the operator reads what they have typed. They asked if we made "custom banners" which sounded suspicious. but what the person was most concerned with was if we accepted credit cards, and when i said no, they asked again, then disconnected on the operator.

Rev. Wayne Larry Banner Scam

To whom is may concern, The name of the gentleman that contacted us via the hearing impaired Phone system - was "Rev. Wayne Larry" He needed several 3'x5' signs within 3 days with a religious message "Gos ia Alpha and Omega", and wanted us to ship them to West Africa via Aztek Shipping Company. His credit cards went through so we thought it was legitimate at first - he used 4 different cards as the order was for over $9,000.00. We kept putting them off until his money cleared the bank. However, we never sent the $3,200 to his shipping company in Ghana. So, we had them instead of them having us. We never heard from them after we kept telling them that we would only use our shipping company. After a few days we credited back their cards. I have several phone numbers for these people unfortunately I believe you can use calling cards to call on, that can't be traced. Let me know if you want any more info. I have the western union address for the Aztek Shipping Company and like I said several phone numbers. The calls were from all over the place - like New York and Indiana. Needless to say they were not very happy with us in the end. Ha!

Bishop Joshua Banner Scam

Many times by the time you email them back to say you are on to their scam and reporting them to the F.B.I., they have already dropped that address and your email comes back. I have gotten dozens of them and they were all from a yahoo.com email address. But these people could be in Ghana, Africa, or wherever. I encourage other Sign Shops to not take calls thru a relay operator. I just say NO and hang up. Emails from unknown people requesting banners, etc. in broken English should just be deleted or copied and sent to the F.B.I. and Fed. Communications Commission - (interstate wire fraud, credit card fraud, etc.)

|Comments: We ran the credit card, called the bank and was told that card was stolen. The customer wanted the banners shipped to New York. The bank cancelled the transactions but didn't want to persue it because the $5000 was "too small". Ugh!

Comments: I have also recieved orders for the same banners from 2 other e-mail addresses using 2 different names, one of them said that this "Lampo" was his senior pastor or something. I'm glad I found this site, I was wondering if I was the only one getting these.
